Y99,000 (£490) from Hifido.co.jp (who ship to the UK if you ask). Just add a nice Audio-Technica universal headshell from audiocubes.com.

Just had a look at the price of Accuphase products in Japan through google.co.jp (didn't know about the co.jp affix, thanks Biccy
thumbs_up.gif.3c8ee62eda0e86146178ab30b9facd86.gif
) which cost HALF the pricethey retail forin Europe. Accuphase E-408 integratedretails at EUR 3,000 against EUR 6,000 in Holland and Germany. And thatistempting.

The arm looks well past it. If you could put something a little more modern in designon there it would probably be quite good but £1800? Thats a p*** take.

I'd be keen to know what its rumble specs where, how easy would it be to aquire replacement parts etc.

Well, obvioiusly i don't know the specs but it is a Japanese high end direct drive so i wouldpostulate that its lab performancewill bepretty good. It would also imagine that it will be well built and thus won't need to be re-set up every 20 minutes to keep it on song, unlike certain north-of-the-border decks that i won't mention.

Talking of Sondeks, i bet it still sounds better than one as well...................

And anyway, i don't flippin' care what it sounds like - LOOK at the damn thing - it's a fantastic huge ugly beast of a thing and i WANT it!!

At £1800 though? That's used Orbe and SME IV territory, possibly something even better...

hmmm...hyperspace 1900, arm 700, power supply 500, cart 600? £3600 minimum...not quite in the same league as £499.

And how many guesses as to which deck is better than that anyway, for £3000 you could have a
