Art audio vpl

Hi, can anyone tell me what the five valves in the art audio vpl do, I have just sprinkled a couple of hundred pounds of various nos 12ax7 I have (I built up a little collection playing with the Bernings, as you can change output impedance via valve choice) 2 seimens 1 telefunken 1 Mullard 1amperex , wow what a improvement.

they came with 5 Harma valves, I came across these a while back and thought they sucked, so no surprise really, but they have also tamed the forward nature of the Carissa in my room, a bit .

want to put valves in place they will do most good, I think I worked out the phono but that's it, so help needed.

I'd like to know this too and for my power amp.

Being new to this, I'd like to know what valves can be used, but can't find any guidance or database and it isn't a case of "if it fits, it's ok"!

I suppose Tom would be the man to speak to for us both? I can't find any guide or user manuals on the web anywhere.

Not much info around but as you look from front, the board on left with two valves is line section, one gain stage + input? pre .might swap out the seimens for tele's too add some bass extension.

one on right with 3 valves is phono. Phase splitter and two gain stages?

may well drop Tom a line, the improvement with the nos valves is mega, worth some tube rolling if you can.
