Why are second/3rd'4th hand ATC Pre amps so expensive.

It must be my Northern frugality then. I can see that their facia are well made etc but i have seen early models from many years back selling for a loyt of cash. I suppose its what an individual would percieve as expensive? I think they are.

Why are second/3rd'4th hand ATC Pre amps so expensive.

Perhaps because they don’t tweak the design every couple of years, and add 20% to the price and a badge that says ‘mk II’ , ‘SE’ or some such. And with a transferable 6 year warranty, there’s little risk.

It’s a 7 and odd k amp, probably with a guarantee. How is it any different to anything else for sale with this criteria?

That model is £7k new and highly regarded
The cheaper CA2 go for much lower prices ... around 1.2k , half price! Not too bad really.
