I have to say I think you made a great decision getting the 50's as they could be the investement of a life time.

I had auditioned the 40' s before and feltthey were good but the actives are in a different league, I also had no intentions of getting them until a pair came available locally out of the blue, I still have a smile on my face 2 years later:love:

keep them powered off at night and save the capacitors I have read, they warm up quickly and you will enjoy them, another tip is to swap the speakers and place the tweeters on the outside to increase soundstage if positioned close together

Thanks for tips regarding usage. The dealer said I could let them be switched on unless I went out for the weekend or longer, but I think I am going to follow your advice to turn them off at night (/when not in use for a time) if that saves the capacitors and prolongs their lifespan.

Those amps draw a fair bit of power even when idle. Worth switching them off for the power savings (and as someone else said, ATCs come on song very quickly when first switched on).
