Curious about Audio Note Dacs and was hoping to get to hear one when I go to Birmingham later this week. Don't have much time but if possible would love to hear something from the range specifically the 2.1x or 4.1x. BTW How much are the 4.1x? Are they available in kit form? From what I can find on the net 4.1 is all that is available in kit form and that seems to be from the US. The uk site is fairly skimpy on info.

If you want to buy a DAC built by Audio Note then buy from Audio Note or one of the few dealers who stock their gear.

Edit : I see one of them has already posted above!

The kits are available in the UK but the forums and websites in the US have more info.

I noticed this on the AN site

http://www.audionote.co.uk/comp/kit_sellers.shtml

Drop Martin Grennall a line there or send him a PM, He is a member of this forum and posts under the name of 'nipponhifi'

Martin is a top man to deal with and I am sure will answer your questions

The 2.1x Balanced is around £4.5K I believe and the 4.1x is approaching £11K.

There's usually a deal around on AN gear though!

Jack: Thanks will pm you later. Will definitely try to get to hear that.

Kevin: Thanks also will drop Martin a note at some point. BTW it is just curiosity at this point purchase would be a more delicate matter.

Simon: Thank you as well you cured my interest in the 4.1x. What is the story on AN deals? It sounds to me as if you are buying just get in and barter like crazy?

Many thanks for the replies hope to get to hear one.
