audio pop (concerning Musical Fidelity M3!)

My MF amp is when i use the CD input . Before any piece of music its given to play, even audio files. CDs the lot
Before the music starts there is POP. This is every song on a CD. ideas please what causes this to happen please

No such fun happens through the USB input

What CD player are you using?
It could be that the CD player's output muting circuit needs servicing, if no other source has that issue.

I think that I misunderstood you question.
Are you trying to say that it's the CD input that pops with any source?

In any case, the best course of action in my view is to contact the manufacturer.

When you say CD input is that stereo line in analogue or digital SPDIF?

If it's the first it sounds like a "feature" of one of my old DACs that didn't have a mute and would pop every time it got a signal (or skipped track).

If it's the second I suspect it's the CD player if it doesn't do the same on other analogue inputs.

Some very old cds were ’recorded’ direct from vinyl and you could hear the stylus contact the LP !!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

no strictly analog input when i play any thing through it there is a pop before the song starts you could live with iot but it becomes annoying to the extent you wonder what causing this phenomenon
