There's a switch box for switching between 3 tape decks on eBay that may do what you're after.

eBay No. 195466573776

I'm not sure on doing links!

Its a good price as two out switch boxes are a little rare, most are one out.
I think and maybe i am wrong but would a speaker switch box be needed as well as the rca switch box?
This item 255529336433
Is a 2 power amp switch box.

As I understand it, the speakers would be connected to the power amps, though 2 pairs would be needed.
Switch boxes for speakers, I would have thought, would have 1 input and several outputs, so may not suit the OP's purposes. I could be wrong, never having used one.
I can see some issues: Two identical sources would be needed and also two pairs of identical speakers.

I want to connect 2 pre amps and 2 power amps so i can easily compare the different combinations.
I think a Beresford TC-7240 will do what you want.

Simply connect line-out from the preamps to two of the 4 line inputs on the Beresford and the two line outputs to the power amps. Then you will be able to switch either pre to either power amps.

The issue you will have is downstream of the power amps, in that each will be connected to different speakers each of which will have different sound. Unless you have a speaker comparator switch such as the Beresford TC-7210.

This will allow switching between two amps and one speaker set. (but do check that if you are using a valve amp the switch presents a true dummy load to the amp.)

I have the TC-7240 which is nicely built (I use it to create a tape monitor circuit) and a custom speaker switch box (for two amps and two speaker sets).

Good points.
I was going to use a speaker box before but read that it makes the speakers slightly harder to drive so i got cold feet and gave up on the idea.
I am not that technically minded.
