A fair few Blueray/DVD players + PVR's seem to support streaming of video/audio so this could be another route, does your playstation also allow this?. As Paul has previously mentioned this can be done from a HTPC or laptop or indeed a plain vanilla PC too:^.........Of course many NAS's also support this, although for streaming audio to a UPnP/DLNA renderer this does seem to require a higher spec NAS to work well based on my own experience.
Synology NAS's also support use as a local player for streaming of your music library & full access to internet radio + supports 'Hi-Rez' audio @ up to 24bit/96khz*. (*I'd expect higher rez support for up to 24/192 may be possible through a plugin from Syno or a third party developer at some point in the future.) All that is needed is a suitable USB DAC or USB/SPdif converter if you have a DAC already that doesn't have a suitable USB input/USB drivers.
You can add additional music renderers/players throughout the house so multi-room options are there a la SBT/SONOS*.(*SBT/Sonos or DLNA/UPnP are all supported with relevant proprietary/third party S/W packages from Syno's package centre, which is a one click download process. :^ ) All of this can be controlled from a Smartphone/Tablet & these can also be used as additional portable players too using headphones or into another amp/active speaks/ghetto blaster etc. :rockin:
