Anyone here experienced it? It looks like a good option for a DAC, it’s supposed to sound very analogue whatever that means.
Anyway, it has no power switch so it’s supposed to be on all the time, how’s that supposed to help the environment, right? :)
Anyways, just curious and looking for some insights.

wow prehistoric stuff there !!! i remember many years ago seeing those . of course we have had the dac3 , 3.5 , 3.5 mark 2 and 3.7 since then so i should think its pretty ancient technology !!!! I am rather impressed with the little bel canto c5i as a pre amp , they have managed to make quite an organic sound . the dac in it is ok but nothing to write home about .

Bc stuff is often designed to be left on like other stuff even including audionote dacs i believe

I can't see why a product would need to be left on all the time. I can see an argument that a piece of kit would sound better once warmed up from cold, but this wouldn't take long. With electricity prices going up all the time, and pressure to consume less to help the environment, the leaving on argument looks even more daft.

Would agree in the case of solid state gear like amps , dacs and the like but would have to say that my Quad ESL 57 are on all the time unless I am away on holiday because they take such a long time to get to full charge and sound as they should and this can be lost after even a coupe of hours being off .
