I've got a DLNA enabled speaker and want to "cast" (sorry if that's not quite the right word) internet radio to it from my android mobile.

I cast Tidal via BubbleUPnP which works nicely but there's no internet radio on it I can see.

I tried HifiCast but it isn't seems to have something called ShoutCast which has a limited number of stations. I want ones like BBC, LBC, etc . Basically I want the full list I can get from my Pure internet radio.

I tried TuneIn radio but I can't see a way of casting from it in the app. I haven't checked if I can get BBC etc on it either.

Does anyone know a good free app that will do what I want?

You can add and save radio station URLs to a playlist on Bubble then access them from the playlist option.

The photos show that I mean.

So you could do BBC etc

Saved playlist option  . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  My Saved Playlists . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .Blues

In fact I've just found this on Bubble which explains how to do it via Tunineradio, ok I know Tune is having issues just now but it might help you add some channels.

Thanks I managed to share Tunein which is helpful as I thought the share button was just to email sometime a link. Unfortunately I didn't realise how few radio stations are on there. Typical ones I like on my internet radio are Otto's Baroque and Darkwave radio

In terms of adding the www address of the radio stations I like, how can I get them if the internet radio I use just shows me the name?

Also what I like doing is browsing the thousands of radio stations on a screen, listening to them on the speaker and adding the ones I like to favourites. I'm really trying to find an app that does that and has a cast option when playing.

I get a lot of mine from here:

https://www.internet-radio.com/

I filter by Bitrate and right click on either the .pls link or the m3u link which lets you copy the 'link address'

That'll result in a link like this

https://www.internet-radio.com/servers/tools/playlistgenerator/?u=http://176.31.107.8:9019/listen.pls?sid=1&t=.pls

When you try and paste it into the playlist option on Bubble you need to do is edit it down and leave yourself this..

http://176.31.107.8:9019/

As you can see I just deleted the start and end of the first link.

Paste that shorter one into bubble when you click on the + in playlists and then save it under a title of your choosing.

This generally works for any link I've tried.

I found the website for Otto's but now I can't see how to add it in UPnp. It seems to want me to be playing something already to add it to the playlist, or have it saved in the library. I can't see how to add it to the library in the first place though.

There's a radio app called Radio.Net that's similar to Tunineradio that doesn't seem to be restricted like Tunineradio

Managed to get a radio in my playlist but the app is playing up something chronic. It's always been flaky but seemed to work previously (after about the 20th attempt).

Hifi Cast connects to it first time every time so I'm sure it's not the speaker.

At he moment I keep getting this error. That IP address is not the speaker, and the app knows it, as the correct IP address shows in the details of the speaker when selecting it as renderer. It's not showing up as any device on the network using Fing either. So why is the app trying to connect to it??

I tried changing some timeout setting for the renderer from 900ms to the max 10,000 but that didn't help. The other settings don't make sense to me.

Ok may have it sorted but a find out next time I use it. I had been using our BT router (just free service as we have a BT land line) but I've had no end of problems with it. Have changed to the Virgin router and it's playing now.

Still don't understand as Tidal/radio streamed to local renderer, and Hifi Cast worked with the speaker, so both things theoretically worked on the BT network.

It seems there's lots of things I don't understand about this streaming malarky but then I wonder if 99.9% of users of these devices and apps would know any better.

Started straight away today with the Virgin router, I'll blame the BT home hub since it seems to be the cause of most of my network/internet issues!

Btw that IP address for Otto actually took me to Planet Ambi HD which is right up my street thank you [emoji2]

Oops, I had copied that link just before the Otto one and it must have stuck in the copy memory rather than copying the Otto link lolEdit: I've just tried that link and it definitely gives me baroque ?

Seems you can only add 3 URLs to bubble a day, will try later in the week. However for a few added that I found in Hifi cast so getting her slowly.

I still need to find a way of adding BBC stations, LBC, Classic FM etc. so I can cast them to the speaker.

Hi Ronnie

Yes I do but I can't switch it on at the moment as I'm trying to find a way to retrieve c.200 accidentally deleted ripped CDs and even switching it on can corrupt some of the data  >:(

If you have any ideas please add them to my thread on the subject!!
