Best hybrid cycle for a grand ?

Looking to get another bike on the cycle to work scheme. Last year i bought a Boardman hyhttp://www.ridgeback.co.uk/bike/flight-03#detailsbrid/Mtb and never really got on with it.

So i'm looking for the closest i can get to a road bike for a grand but without the drop bars. (cant ride a pure road bike due to an elbow injury )

I looked at some of the specialized but they don't really look any good until they get to £1500

Not really bothered about disc brakes as i'd like as close to a roadie as possible.

Ive had a sub 20 for a year now, lovely to commute on. disk brakes are superb, reasonably light and seems to be well strapped together, and it looks good too.

There's a million and one decent bikes out there now. I researched for years a decided in the end that CUBE are as good as my money will buy. Their range is amazing, they are built to a great standard and use top parts everywhere. To be honest, this is true of several makers, but, in the end, you have to plump.

If you can mechanic your own bike and don't need to rely on bike shop support some of the other German direct to consumer brands like Rose bikes and Canyon offer great value.
