Gentlemen,

just to report that for my Falcon LS3/5a Gold Badge I've pulled the trigger and bought a REL T/5x. Being unable to demo both the SVS 3000 Micro and the REL T/5x in my room, I've taken a leap of faith, based on the positive feedback from a lot of people about how easily they were able to integrate a REL sub with their speakers.

I will take some time and revert with impressions.

Cheers,
Panos

The REL is a great choice, how are you planning to integrate the sub into the system? I would advise investing in a a calibrated Mic (UMIK-1) and download a copy of REW.

There are loads of YT videos on how to do it.
Yes, I know. I already have a UMIK-1 and REW. I will give both a spin when I find some time. That’s a more trusted process than relying on one’s ears -))

Cool. I presume you purchased 2 subs to preserve stereo bass as one will not sound correct in a 2 channel system.
The reason for getting a pair of subs as opposed to a single sub is more about driving the room and avoiding room mode issues than it is about stereo bass. We can't discern the direction of bass frequencies at 80-90 Hz and below and so stereo perception of subs at those frequencies is moot.

My T/7 is located behind my chair. No room between the speakers ( which is where it should be) and yes, crossover is about 1 o clock but volume is only 3 notches. Small room. I would be very interested in your results ear v computer. ( I have never used room correction or computer results)

Apologies if my post is off-topic, as it does not refer to my Falcon LS3/5a, but I've just finished the first attempt to integrate the REL T/5x with my OGY speakers (https://www.closeracoustics.com/loudspeakers/ogy) and I am presenting the results here. Red line is the main speakers only (OGY), blue line is the REL only and green line is the cumulative of both. As one can see, the OGY starts rolling off at 80Hz, and with the help of the sub, that rolling off starts at 40Hz.

Without going into much detail, I made a recalibration in my system (currently encompassing the OGY speakers) and I had to re-integrate the REL T/5x. You may disregard the previously posted results and take into account the new ones, which are more accurate (due to channel imbalance I detected today). The purple line is the one with the REL sub included, and as is evident it differentiates from the red line (main speakers only) in frequencies below 90Hz. Without any doubt the sub is a big plus in the overall sound quality of the system.

Furthermore, as soon as I receive my serviced Falcon LS3/5a from the Falcon factory, I will integrate the sub with Falcons and post the respective measurements.
