Checking the Spreadsheet I calculate that we have 9 potential participants requesting large rooms.

There were 4 large rooms last year and I have seen mention of possible use of restaurant area (that was empty last year) as an extra space.

Obviously 9 into 5 is not going to work, so it looks like some discussion around possible room share, room allocation or other compromises could be in order.

I have started this thread as a placeholder for discussion however, I think it right that we wait first for the mods / event organisers to give the first thoughts. If it would be helpful for us to then work out between us how we will manage then we can take it from there.

Hopefully this seems reasonable without wanting to jump the gun.

I'm going to stay out of this conversation as my name is one of those down for a larger room so it would seem ungainly to get involved but maybe it's worth members taking a look at what they think they might like to hear most so Peter can make an informed choice. I don't envy him!

I should mention that room allocations have in previous years been done by Maverick and the moderators, and this is likely to be the case again this year, once the basic details are sorted. The issue of bribery is open for discussion :D

Ah ha, now we are talking. I'm sure I can come up with a suitable bribe. Blackmail is my usual preferred leverage but I don't think I've got anything on any of you. Darn it. 🤣

Ah so my room will be the 'Garfunkel' room .......the sound of silence apart from the noise of a cork being pulled from a bottle

Thats an inky black silence of course

Can I buy tickets to this tasting ? Is it too soon to discuss what malts we are bringing ? We do not want to duplicate the choices.

Schmoozed a dram of 25 yr old Fettercain in Aberdeen airport on Friday eve ....quite a sweet but very smooth dram - alas £1200 a bottle.

mmmm quite partial to a Clynelish.....are the no special bottling that are only from the distillery at Tobermory Tony ?

The Fettercain sounds good Keith, but I despair at the prices that the older whisky fetches these days - daylight robbery IMHO. There was a time, etc. etc.

I will check out what's available from Tobermory - that's a very pleasant dram.
