Nice. Mind you, there are many malts that I would drink in preference to Macallan - too much sherry and caramel for my liking.

Drat, I don't do whiskey, I can feel this large room slipping through my fingers.
Lidl have a blended scotch for not much more than a tenner. Pour - sorry, decant - into a fancy bottle and no one will know. It’s a bit like cables, heavily prone to expectation bias  :p

.

edit I realise that this is not helping my large room chances either 🤐

not sure if I'll be requested to help this time, offered to do after the date was announced - but no reply  :/

Pie Gate lingers on?  :nerves:
Nah - Peter's never been terribly responsive. I'm sure all help will be gratefully received!

These are the floor plans and sizes of the large rooms.  I don't recall the bar in the Ashby room from last year but I think I only visited 3 out of the four rooms.

Is there any news on whether the restaurant room can also be used?

Looking at the dimensions and layout, I would have thought it possible to have two systems in each of Kingston and Ashby but space would probably be to tight for this in Hathern and Lockington considering a system would need to be at each end and chairs in between (even if, as i would expect the same chairs would be turned around when switching between the systems).

Any views from exhibitors and visitors last year on room layout and the practicalities of sharing a space?

Ive got most of the parts cut for the Linkwitz Orions and have built an amp for them. I should get the last bits cut later this week. I wouldn't need one of the huge rooms, the Hathern is plenty big enough.

Personally I don't get the MacAllan hype. Massively overpriced, and not that good.

I remember being given a glass of Royal Oporto from a freshly opened case of bottles from 1943, with a Swastika printed on them, by a guy who had worked for deBeers in SA for years and had then moved into industrial diamond cutting tools.... but sorry to say, I have none to bring on the Sunday when I visit all you brave, hard working guys! Really looking forward to it as always!
