Boenicke W8 SE, in walnut with swing bases.

I bought these on here recently, as a punt, and they’ve caused serious domestic disruption (the previous speakers are much preferred aesthetically) amazingly, due to their size (they are so small they look daft in our large room compared to the previous speakers) and my hope (they are absolutely superb performers) that the initial objections would die has not come to pass. To be fair, I get away with a lot of boxes coming in and out with very little objection usually so I can’t reasonably push it too far….

I’m offering these at the bargain price paid - £3.5k. That’s just 28% of the retail by my maths – for a current model of a highly regarded speaker.

A few points to note – there is a small scuff to the back edge of one speaker, there is a tiny dink in the dust cover of one of the rear tweeters, and a shiny patch on one of the curves at the back, on the top. Photos of all three points are the first three photos in the album linked below. The scuff is much more noticeable on the photo than it is in the flesh (I only noticed it because I felt it when picking the speaker up) and the patch can only be seen from a certain angle in full light (and the photo has been taken on that basis). The dink may be removable with a bit of sticky tape or whatever but its so minor I’d be inclined to just leave it be….

These are minor points and they look great overall. And they sound very good indeed – I’m genuinely disappointed to have to let these go, particularly given the bargain price.

What you see in the photos is what you get. There is some packaging (its incomplete) and the original bags but not sufficient to safely ship.

At this price I’m looking for a straightforward sale – you collect (Cambridge) and pay by bank transfer or PP F&F. I think the photos and the above text tell you all you need to know. My thirst for trying different speakers is not entirely sated so I might be up for a deal – but be reasonable/realistic – I’m not going to swap them for those obscure overpriced things you’ve been trying to sell for the last 18 months!

These look amazing and probably sound the same too
(......is it me or does the wood finish look different on each one? A lot darker on one speaker compared to the other one. I would of thought they would be matched from the manufacture better? )

As the owner of 'overpriced obscure things'......now reduced.....would still swap for the Offrandes.....
superb quality in either.

Hornucopia, I actually had in mind a very different exchange I’d had when I listed an amp for sale a while ago when I referred to obscure overpriced things. Your speakers may well meet the obscure definition but they are emphatically not overpriced and I thought your offer to me was actually very generous….just not what I needed right now.

As most know i have had a pair since the final Scalford show.
Yesterday I was playing some really deep, classic reggae on mine and grinning like the muppet i am. Then I played some early Paul Simon stuff and really enjoyed the mix / sound stage.
Amazing speakers and this is a great offer I won’t say GLWTS because I expect they will be gone today!
