Hi, over the last few months I have been seeking help from fellow wammers to build a new system, after my 20+ year system was disappeared. Through this process I have had lots of kind and helpful advice. As part of this I have purchased a pair of Buchardt S400's, which arrive today. I contacted Mads Buchardt about the general process and the difficulty in getting real world, believable accounts of his products.
In short, he has offered the loan of a pair of speakers to the HIFI WHIGWAM forum for the upcoming show to allow wider exposure to enthusiasts. Can I pass this over to the responsible person to take this forward.
I can provide my email address, contact no and purchase order no via pm to give validity to the initial contact with Mads.
I would love to go to the show, but my schedule later in the year is currently uncertain and it is a long drive from southern Scotland.
Hopefully this can give a little back to the wammers who have helped me.
All the best, Michael

Great offer, now we need a Wammer who can show them for the day. I'd volunteer but I'm coming in the train so won't have anything to use them with! Maybe an exhibitor would consider showing them off instead of/aside their current speakers. Perhaps a few timed switches over the day (say a 30 minute demo every 2 hours) would work.

I‘m sorry but there will be a limited amount of trade at the show who will be paying so though a nice gesture it would not be fair on them .

They would get more positive publicity if they donated a loan pair to the WAM & let them do the rounds between enthusiasts ? Say 2 weeks trial & the next tester pays the postage ? Just an idea

Should a wammer take up this option I can tell you after having my S400s for only 5 days these are really good speakers, even right out of the box and on my impromptu stands until I get real ones next week. (photo attached for your amusement)
I look forward to hearing them improve over the rest of the 45 day trial period.
Cheers michael

Always wanted to hear a pair of these, the reviews often seem too good to be true. Be interesting to hear your views on them after the trial.

Hi Duvet, I did take your comment on board. No doubt if an individual wammer decide to get a pair and bring them under their own steam that would be OK.
All the best and thanks for the guidance,
Michael
I think what @DUVET is trying to say is that the WAM show is all about us and our passion for music and our systems that we have paid for and enjoy. This has always been the purpose of the event, not a traditional Hifi show, that’s what makes the WAM show unique. I am surprised tbh that Audionote are there as having manufacturers there goes against the grain but if they are paying to be there, it supports the show financially then that’s a good thing. Having another manufacturer there on a freebie isn’t ethical or fair.
It’s a nice offer but political.

Hi Rockchild,
Thanks for the clarification, i did not think of politics, just wanted to see if I could help give something back to the WAM as I probably will not be able to attend this year.
All the best, michael

Once I have got them on proper stands and they have run in a bit more, I'll write up some comments. The plan is too listen to them at the end of the week at a dealers comparing against Amphion Argon 3s which I also fancy.
So far what I have really liked about the Buchardts are how I can plonk them down and just listen to the music, which is really what it is all about for a lot of people.
Cheers michael

I know exactly where your coming from and sounds like your enjoying them. I would like to try a pair one day as I eventually would like a less dominant speaker in my room but sadly I don’t have a suitable amp currently to drive them.
I too cannot attend the show as I reside down in god’s waiting room (Cornwall) and it’s a bit far for me.
Maybe in the future, something can happen for us southerners.
Politics are always something to bare in mind but if I was at the show as a manufacturer and paying for the privilege, it would upset me a bit.

Yes it's a bit of a trek for a lot of people at the extremities of the UK.
Considering how long it takes to get speakers that suit you and your room it is not an easy task.
If you are ever up my way (Dumfries) you would be very welcome.
Cheers michael
