Wanted Budget amplifier

Hello lovely Wammers,

I’m helping one of our young engineers at work put together a system for his new house. I have the cassette deck (bizarrely, this is his main source!) and the speakers but am lacking amplification. Would any of you happen to have a nice budget amp sitting in a cupboard unloved? Doesn’t need to be anything fancy but apparently needs to be black to match the cassette deck! I’m thinking something along the lines of a Yamaha A-300 or something similarly entry level but decent. The speakers are 1990s GLL Mezzos so nothing tricky to drive.

Obviously, the new house purchase has wiped his finances so budget is £as-little-as-possible.

Any ideas gratefully received.

The young lad at work has spent all summer buying up cassettes from car boots he's mates are all into them as they are retro which is in apparently
