"Oxygen-free wire is no better than normal wire". Who would have thunk it?

I wish cable threads were banned from this site. Would mean that I would not have to quote this crap from the QED man in the article ....

"Jon Jeary, QED's electronics engineer, defends his work. "My job is to design a better HDMI cable, and that cable does have an effect on the signal. It has capacitance, so the voltage changing from a zero to a one has got to charge up that capacitance, which takes time, so the signal begins to round off to a point where you can't tell whether it's a zero or a one anymore."

A plea from me, please ban cable threads, it would further enhance the forum for being "different" to the rest.

Lets face it cables & the crap that surrounds them defy reason.

Yes, that quote made me chuckle.

But why would you ban them? They don't harm you personally, you don't even have to read them. I rarely look at them, they're way down the list of trollin' opportunities at the moment.

Because the idea that cables affect audible frequency as suggested is complete religious nuttery of the highest disorder. There are plenty of sites where one could go to talk about cables .... just not here.

So what? what?

Why not open up another forum here for religious nuts? they have the same grasp on reality IMHO. You would not have to read that yourself.

I asked so what because the answer you gave doesn't explain in what way these threads are harming you personally. You needn't read them, as I said in #7.

Why are you asking me, it's not my forum. We've got the public bar, there's all sorts of strange threads in there, some I read, some I don't.

It doesn't harm me at all, as you can see from the fact that I am conversing with you. I haven't asked for you to be banned, because your opinion in no way harms me.

At any moment, I could exercise choice and no longer read or participate in my own thread.

You are very aggressive.

I did not ask you. I made a comment about cable threads in general. Would be a great day if it was considered I reckon, it may not be, audiophools all the world may go incandescent with anger over the suggestion. Personally I think it would be a great thing.
