Hi Guys

I'd really appreciate some advice on recommended hifi dealers in brighton area or Sussex in general.

Just spoke to a chap at Audio T who told me i was 'wrong' in not liking the Naim sound. What is the general concensus about the Brighton shop?

I then spoke to a chap at Powerpoint in Hove who could only recommend Cyrus kit. I need a good, honest dealer with plenty of options.

Can anybody help.

Cheers

Rich

Audio T in London Road are Naimees big style.

The Power Plant along Western road in Hove used to be quite good:?

Seven oaks along the same road.

Well i'd reco SOM but the kit is esoteric and hardly cheap. That said JJ is always open to a deal and if you mention us you'll have him cowering as we always drive a hard bargain.

Check out his ex-dem and second hand section where some stonking bargains can be picked up.

Disappointing that by Audio-T. At Oxford one of their guys is a big Naim fan the other the complete opposite. When I demo'd they let me hear Naim, Cyrus, Audiolab, Meridian and got me in especially for the demo some Rega gear which they then let me have on home loan.

Audio T in Brighton is the original 'Flat Earth' shop!

Naim Linn or Rega and that is your lot!

Having said that, I have always found Julian and the others very helpful. I bought my CDP from there as well!

Would also give Phase 3 in Worthing a big

They couldn't have been more helpful sorting out my speakers/room resonance, including Home demo's, three lots of speakers in my lounge at a time etc!!

Sevenoaks in Hove I found are really in to MA for speakers, the shop is full of them!

No one has mentioned Peter Quadrop's (sp)place in Montpelier Rd (Audio Note).£1k might buy you a fancy capacitor or maybe even a valve!

Found Audio T very helpful - loaned me a SN2 for a week.

Also liked Audio Note Lounge in Montefiore Rd Hove. Don't be put off by the shop frontage - there are lovely things to be seen and heard in there! And Dale is very helpful. I ended up buying a NuVista 600 from the latter.

Yes, that shop front is really something else. It elicits a strange brew of 'urrgghh' and interest - it looks so utterly crap and unloved that it may just hide someone (like the guy behind the curtain in The Wizard Of Oz) that is more interested in performance than performing. Still, the yellow sun screen and dead flies and cobwebs makes it hard to cross the threshold, in case you find some ancient old man lying stiff behind the door with 30 years of unopened mail...

just found this video clip embedded into the hifi shop in Worthing's website.

Interesting if you are into art installations using sound. Bit of an aside, I know..
