I do not want to open the Pandora's box but only for a tip: I'm looking for a 2nd hand interconnect on the warm side, with highs not too highlighted (I have tinnitus), and after reading some reviews I'm thinking to Chord Chrysalis or Chord Cobra or Atlas Equator.

Every advice welcomed. Thank you

Amp: NAD 3120

Source: Musical Fidelity E60 / Arcam Black Box DAC

Speakers: Wharfedale Diamond II

Speaker cables: Cable Talk 3 (just tried an upgrade with Kimber pr4 but I didn't like them at all, too open).

As you say a bit of a Pandora's Box!!!!!! I've used Chord cables on and off with my systems over the years and in fact gave a surplus Cobra to my B I L for his NAD amp and it's fine. Never tried an Atlas.

Always thought the Chord stuff erred on the bright side, in general. I've not tried the Atlas stuff. Although I do believe that cables can make a difference, in the grand scheme of things, these differences are relatively tiny compared to changing other components.

Audible Differences between two similarly priced IC's will be very minor. Even speaker placement & room treatment will likely make a bigger difference than cable changes.

I'd see if a friendly local dealer would lend you some before handing over your £££.

Matt.

I have both chord and atlas IC the chord is open and almost bright. The atlas is definitely a little smoother and would suit you well.

chord chrysalis now a bit behind the game imo , newer chords are better with a slight tendancy towards brightness . I have atlas as well and find them to have better bass and smoothness , however I have a few systems and use the +s and -s of each cable to get the sound I want from them often mixing the cables
