Croft Series 7 and 7R.

Has anyone owned a Croft Series 7 and 7R Power amp and could offer an impression of difference please ? I have owned both in the past but at the time with my P3ESRs could tell little or no difference (don’t shoot me !). This may have been attributable to the fact that no more bass could be squeezed out of them. I have different speakers now and this may not be the case.

I cannot address that comparison directly, but can vouch for the sweetness of the 7R, and it certainly does bass. Mine is an amp modded by Glen during manufacture with I believe slightly lower output (maybe 35W) and different tubes as well (I'm not on sure footing here) and particularly good with Tannoys it is too. But its the sweetness that gets me, not rose tinted, no lack of slam or extension, just a delicacy of presentation that makes vocals especially real. I assume due to the output devices. If classical is your bag you should try to get to listen to this :^ :^ :^
