Many of us will have seen the film of hovercraft coming in to land at a docks, or the Top Gear episode where they had to build an amphibious vehicle. And thought "Naaaah.... Too slow, on water or on the road. Tries to be the best of both worlds and ends up being the worst instead."
Not any more. 80mph+ on road, 44mph on water. That's nearly 40knots!!! Amazing! Drive to the lake with your mates and some skis, throw a rope out the back and tow your mates 'round the lake, then drive home!

Only problem is the price.
US$135000 for a fully built, turnkey car. You can kit build your own for less, but it's still pricey. And frankly, you could buy a nice tow car (even a decent 4x4) and a boat, and a trailer for much the same money.
Wouldn't have quite the same cachet when arriving at a riverside pub in summer, finding no where to park, and driving into the river and mooring up, though. Or driving up the river and parking in the car park.
