Anyone else done this update yet ? 4.100.502 update went fine took approx 10 mins, Akurate DSM update
Exaktbox I version has not changed.
Just updated. I didn't time it, but it certainly took a lot less that ten minutes. Maybe two minutes.
About 2 - 3 minutes for me this time. 99 was a royal pain, so I was a bit chary of repeating the exercise. However, to ensure connection security, I instigated the update from my Windows 10 PC rather than the iPad. The update didn't appear to include any Exakt components.
Well I tried with Konfig. It said new update, but when I clicked on it, it disappeared.
Then said there were no updates. So went to Linn Account and it said 'no updates needed', but something had happened with my KDS as the playlist emptied and I had to change the input settings on the KK as usual with an update when updating, but it can't have done an update in less than 1 second.
Konfig currently says:
Software Version 4.100.502
Software Variant 1062
Linn Account says the same version number as above.
Anyone know whether this is the latest or even if this update is for my KDS/4 Organik?
All very strange

I hope the good folk at Linn tidy up the update process. Using Konfig, it was possible to see the new firmware number, and the user was also give a link to whatever was new. It also gave a progress report for the update.
Using the Linn app I simply got a button that allowed me to update. No further info that was obvious to me.
I’m sure they’ll get there but the current setup seems a backward step compared to the firmware update process in Konfig.

I have not downloaded the new Davaar 100, and therefore not listened to it, but I am sure it sounds better

I downloaded it and it sounds great. But then it sounded great before

Exactly. Has anyone actually had the opportunity with two units to compare side by side with different Davaar or old Bute versions? I doubt it much.I downloaded it and it sounds great. But then it sounded great before![]()
I do the update, but don't really expect it sounds much different from a 2007 Davaar.
I've just applied the Davaar 100 (stable) update to an MDSM/1, via the Linn app. The app told be the DSM was updating for about two minutes, then told me it was in fallback mode for about a further three minutes. Then it recovered. Not sure if the fallback stage is normal, but it alarmed me as this DSM was bricked by Davaar 99 beta, requiring a trip to my Linn dealer for remediation.
I did the update on my selekt dam and mdsm/3 without issues.
no idea if there are any sonic improvements

I have, there isn’t.I did the update on my selekt dam and mdsm/3 without issues.

We did the update to Davear100 without a problem. But the sound had changed again. This time it wasn't as good as before. Lost the bass.
Discovered that when we get a Davear update, when the system automatically reboots, you are no longer hearing your SO setting but some default sound that comes with the update.. To get things sounding better again you have to reset back to your SO file. After doing this the sound is back to excellent again.
This could be why so many updaters think that there has been a sound change with the new software.

Kazoo is dead, the Linn App in conjunction with the Linn Account Web Portal is the new King.I am getting messages about updates through the Kazoo app. I had never seen this before.

Never heard any sonic changes when updating a DS/M but (imho) there was a change in the last 2 Exaktbox I updates I know many will shoot this down as BS and I cannot prove anything but hey ho I’m enjoying my system
