A very good example of the highly regarded Denon HA-500 head amp. An inexpensive high quality solution for adding MC to an onbound or external MM stage.

Its a great match with my AT OC9 ii and iii. I have tried numerous SUTs and always been disappointed by the slight loss of dynamics and impact at frequency extremes. Whereas the Denon has fabulous bass, a shimmery top end and is very quiet.

The Denon supports two levels of gain 24db and 32db. With the AT OC9 (0.4 mV) I use the 24db setting into a 40db MM valve stage. So the step up can easily cater for even lower output carts.

All but two 2 of the caps have been replaced, the black caps are all NOS Nippon caps replaced in 2021. The two small grey caps near the IC chip are the only original caps and are not in the signal path. The guy who replaced the caps is well known on AoS for his professional quality work hence the original looking appearance!

The case has a black vinyl wrap on the topplate which looks much better in practice) and the faceplate is in very good condition. Its a UK 240v model.

I am only selling this as I have two, the other was recapped and modded by Angus (Phonomac). And I really don't need an MC on a barely used study TT!

PRICE £275 plus RMSD which will be around £30 or you can arrange your own courier. I prefer sending by RMSD as it includes insurance upto £500.

I think this used to be mine, but either way these are very very good, if I ever changed direction & went back to using a good MM phono stage & a head amp this would be top of my list, & Graham is a great guy to deal with.

Hi Brook! Thanks for your kind words and yes this is the one you used to own. It has since been recapped which improved the performance. Its a great match with my AT carts.

This is great alternative to a SUT. Very dynamic, quiet and with non of the hum issues that can affect SUTs.
