Hi - I'm looking for one of these to connect from the digital output of a Squeezebox Touch to the XLR input of a Devialet 170. Apologies for my ignorance, but do these exist (I've been googling for days ...)? I've seen some phono to XLR, but no digital to XLR. According to Devialet, it's very important that the cable is 75ohm impedance, which might make this quest impossible....

Thanks, Ken

Are you sure about the 75 ohms? Digital XLR inputs are 110 ohms, it's coax ins and outs that are 75 ohms.

If the equipment is critical about impedance, you'll need a 75-110 ohm Balun, you should be able to get one from Canford.

However, I've not come across any equipment that was fussy about digital I/O impedances, even a bit of wet string would work as Canford showed at an exhibition a few years ago.

Flashback Sales will make this cable for you at a very reasonable price
or just use a normal digital coax cable and a converter like this:

Sorry for being dumb, but what would this win you over using (one of) the coax input(s) on the Devialet?

Thanks all for the replies - not a dumb question Gyroscope! I asked Thierry at Devialet what would be the preferred option to connect my Squeezebox, and he recommended using the XLR input on the D170.

SergeAuckland - I hear what you're saying. Getting the dem tomorrow so will just use my coax SPDIF cable at the moment. If I go for it, will experiment with interconnects later.
