I've had a belt drive turntable for a long time but know very little about the direct drive stuff.

What are the pros/cons, and whats out there? How much wonga would it take to get an entry level DD?

I've had a brief listen to Freefallrob's Technics which sounded very good.

Cheers

Chris

DD, now lets see, for me going from a belt to DD l noticed one dirty great thing ( and this is odvious really) and that is speed stability, which results in no wobbly piano notes, tighter focus etc, and the second is the solidty of images ( as in rock solid), and the bass always seems to underpin any music being played. Freefallrob's Techie is gaining mythical status in some circles, a well sorted thought out, balanced sound, all in my humble opinion of course. :)
