Just wondered whether anyone else was at Ronnie Scott's on Saturday the 28th and saw Donny McCaslin and band? - I thought they were bloody brilliant - far exceeded my expectations, which were already pretty high (I also rate his work with Bowie on Black Star, but it did not prepare me for the sheer majesty of their live performance) - some of his previous studio work seems to play it a bit "safe", but there's a forthcoming album on a new (UK) label that I shall be ordering at the earliest opportunity
