very interested in hear findings about the decks. i've never heard 927. FWIW i've never got along with 930 and 948 for home use, so much that i passed two 930s that were offered for peanuts for such a deck (about a grand each).

The shoot out is actually for LR phono stages, so neither conventional RC types nor LCR stages are allowed....

Those pics were taken early yesterday when few were about. I'd guess there are 100 or so people attending altogether & they stay at the hotel for the duration. The phono stage shoot out was interesting, a mixture of valve & solid state designs with the winner getting a one off hybrid Schick/Schroder tonearm they'd put together. As Thomas Schick said "it has all the flaws of each design!" Some live music last night & a good while wandering around the various rooms listening to different stuff. Probably 2 sometimes 3 systems in each of the 8 or so largish rooms so you do have to keep going back to catch everything. There are some vintage bits in use that I wouldn't have given a second look at had I seen them at a boot sale. We were listening to a very powerful sounding Elac (Miracord) turntable last night which looked like nothing but which had all the drive & energy of the best garrard or Lenco.
