For what an hdd & memory on top would cost I reckon you'd be better off grabbing a used Innous Zen mini. Onboard hdd built in ripping and a superb App, upgradeable aswell with the matching external LPS.Very tempted with one of these, as would like to start ripping my CD collection. Sounds reasonabley easy prospect with the addition of some memory & an external drive.
Presume its Wifi enabled for streaming purposes?
Does the Zen have Wifi? I've no LAN near my systemFor what an hdd & memory on top would cost I reckon you'd be better off grabbing a used Innous Zen mini. Onboard hdd built in ripping and a superb App, upgradeable aswell with the matching external LPS.
No wifi, but this is easily resolved using either a wifi range extender with an ethernet port plugged in locally or a wifi bridge (rj45 wifi dongle) plugged into the mini and powered by one of the usb ports. Both solutions available for <£25 on fleabay, or if you use apple products then a used Apple airport express v1 (~£10) would also do the job as has an ethernet port.Does the Zen have Wifi? One reason to seriously consider it.Apart from intermet chatter from individuals I can’t find a single review from a HiFi journalist.
You prefer to listen to completely unknown people than known people. Seems a high risk approach but each to their own.One reason to seriously consider it.
A lot of the youtube videos are paid for promotions. Buyer beware. One reason to seriously consider it.
When you say known people, do you mean members on this forum? You prefer to listen to completely unknown people than known people. Seems a high risk approach but each to their own.
Are they all paid reviewers that have reviewed the EverSolo?A lot of the youtube videos are paid for promotions. Buyer beware.
Similarly are reviews in HiFi mags not influenced by manufacturer’s who take advertising with them? You rarely see bad reviews in the magazinesA lot of the youtube videos are paid for promotions. Buyer beware.
I stated that HiFi journalists had not reviewed it. You responded that this was a reason to consider the item. I responded that it seemed high risk to depend on unknown users opinions from the internet rather than known people. You then asked if I meant people on this forum. A Hifi journalist or a Wammer in my view can be relied upon because they have a body of work that can be cross referenced. Some wammers write a lot more than others and so those who are more prolific can be relied upon more. I have never met @Rockchild and so technically don’t ‘know him’ but he has written so much and is consistent that I can rely on what he has written. When you say known people, do you mean members on this forum?
I've purchased this item, hopefully be receiving it in less than 2 weeks. I will give my opinions on it (you will easily be able to tell that I'm not a paid reviewer) but you don't know me anymore than someone on YT. If you mean 'friends', then you are very limited to the items you would trust to buy since it would only be stuff that had passed through their hands.
Are they all paid reviewers that have reviewed the EverSolo?
Yes I agree most Hifi mag reviews are good. Not sure if this will be reviewed by the mags as they mostly review products that are sold by UK high street sellers not Chinese imports.Similarly are reviews in HiFi mags not influenced by manufacturer’s who take advertising with them? At least the review in ASR was primarily based on measurements, if it hadn’t measured well it wouldn’t have got a good review. Indeed manufacturers have given ASR products to review and they have got a ‘not recommended’.
I believe the product only came out in recent weeks , if demo products are doing the rounds with the Hi-Fi magazines we might see the reviews in the July or August issues, they generally seem to be a couple of months behind.
I also wonder if the magazines are mindful about giving excellent reviews to products that compete with the products from their big advertisers? Just a thought.
This is the problem with these reviews, we don't who is being paid and what or who is not, although some do declare a paid for promo. When you say known people, do you mean members on this forum?

There is at least one U.K. distributor who has picked it up, but as you say no known high st resellers to my knowledge.Yes I agree most Hifi mag reviews are good. Youtube is used as direct advertising or marketing, some people don't seem to realise that now.
ASR based on measurements that are inaudible, they say everything sounds the same, waste of time. Is the owner not connected to some products?
Yes one UK dealer has it, but he is banned on the WAM. Have you already ordered one? There is at least one U.K. distributor who has picked it up, but as you say no known high st resellers to my knowledge.
I know on some social media sites if an ‘influencer’ is being paid to review/promote a product it needs to be declared, not sure about YouTube though. God knows how it’s policed though.
ASR do often state whether the distortion etc they measure is within the limits of being audible. I didn’t know that the owner had any interests or connection with products.
I haven’t, I’m not in the market for one. I do like the VU meter display though.Yes one UK dealer has it, but he is banned on the WAM. Have you already ordered one?
One review says it is bit bright and forward, which may not suit some people or systems.
I did not post the one you are referring to at the beginning of your post, that was Ricco.I stated that HiFi journalists had not reviewed it. Some random unknown person from somewhere on the internet (not on the Wam) wetting their pants over something new is to me more or a risk. Hopefully that’s clearer for you now. I hope that you enjoy your purchase.
There are quite a number of wammers whom I would rely on and this list is fairly long and it includes Mods and normal wammers. If people want to take a punt on the unknown then they are welcome to do so and we will welcome any review that they publish. Best of luck.I did not post the one you are referring to at the beginning of your post, that was Ricco.
You mention only one Wammer whose reviews you consider can be relied on, that is what I was getting at in my post to you. How many other Wammers can you 'rely' on to review new products that are in line with your musical taste/style of presentation. Also how many of these people are actual buying new products and not 2nd hand gear? Sometimes you have to 'chance it' or you will be stuck with a very limited choice of equipment. I have purchased a few Chinese products, amps from RFTLYS, Musical Paradise and Yaqin, dac's from Topping and XiangSheng, speakers from Tuohlihao, cables/connecters from AliExpress, all have been excellent products except for some banana plugs.
