The moderators have it about right IMO
there’s plenty of give and take and they participate regularly on various chats imparting knowledge to the likes of me …the ones I’ve met personally have always been fair blokes
If you want to inform about some “ member” a quick pm to a moderator ,jobs sorted no issues …

I’ve been in touch with Audio Emotion over the return of my Restek CDP and by all accounts, these Streamers are flying out the door.
New shipment arriving next week apparently. The hype on youtube seems to work. I wonder how many will be returned within 30 days.

Hmmm homing pigeon included? If sales are good then hopefully the new owners will come on here a talk about it.

Hype means nothing when you have 30 days to find out yourself 😊
Either way, most streamers regardless of make, seem to be made in China. It is a shame however, we can’t support our country when it comes to this sort of thing but that’s the way it is.
In the 70’s many things said made in Hong Kong so what’s changed other than sovereignty 😊

Yes most made in China. Innuos are made in Europe?

Linn are made in UK but I won't buy one. Naim are made in? Again won't be buying one.

Yeah, would be interesting to have a bake off with a £750 player and a £35000 one 😊

Innuos is a UK company, the factory and tech support is in Portugal.
Innuos are not listed at companies house. They do have a lot of information on their website though about their various initiatives in Portugal. I know that they started in the UK but are you sure that they actually are a UK company rather than Portuguese company? According to LinkedIn almost all employees are based in Portugal and none in the UK. Can you provide a link?

So when the early adopters get these, how objective do we expect the reports to be? Surely human nature is going to bias the response?

Human nature bias is part of all comments and views including your implied view that the owners will not be able to be honest about what they bought . In truth if the item is not very good then most will be sending it back . How each of us would judge an item will be according to our own bias which we are never really able to rid ourselves of . All we can do is read the comments filter it through our own judgement and decide for ourselves if the comments have credibility . This is what we do when Hi Fi Journalists write up an item , we have a body of work that they have done and often we will have heard items they review and compare that with our own view . If they are similar then we will tend to give credence to that writer . Same here if we have read posts from a Wammer and we are mainly in agreement with their comments we will be inclined to accept their review and comments as faithful . But their view and our own will all still be biased .

Unless the early adopters have the appropriate kit to measure the audio performance then any opinion based on listening will be subjective and well just their opinion. Apart from that the facilities, ergonomic use and functionality of the unit will be separate issues for consideration.

People tend not to share their (honest) opinion if it causes embarrassment. Also if you criticise something frankly, moving it on will be hard. If it's overhyped, it may take a while to find out due to human nature.

My thoughts will not be biased. I'm not looking at this as being the be all and end all product. I'm looking for something that can play my music and is listenable through a holiday system.

Thing is, it’s no risk with the Audio Emotion 30 day trial.

I’m generally quite critical of things I have tried. Nothing is perfect and even things I have purchased, I look for the pro’s and cons.
With this streamer, it looks to have an extremely simple interface and will probably hold its own against the competition and when you feel you want to up the anti, add a better DAC.
