Eversolo DMP-A6 Streamer. Is it really as good as they say it is?

Ah, yes, a home demo is different 🙂. I thought people were talking about buying one.

It doesn't appear to be as straightforward as that (14 days max for refund, you have to pay return costs, and must be in as new condition):

https://www.audioemotion.co.uk/satisfaction-guarantee-38-w.asp
Is that correct? You have 14 days to say you want to cancel and then another 14 days to return it: "You must offer a refund to customers if they've told you within 14 days of receiving their goods that they want to cancel. They have another 14 days to return the goods once they've told you. You must refund the customer within 14 days of receiving the goods back."

The as new is a grey area. How can you try it out and then return as new?

I have just read that the Eversolo operating system is based on Android. Yesterday Openreach fitted my UK broadband. We tried to connect the Sony (Android) based TV to the internet and set up Google Home. After an hour of frustration we gave up. And after being asked by a client to use a Samsung phone (for security reasons) I had to give it back to their tech support on a regular basis. It was hilarious when the keyboard disappeared and they said down load another one - with no keyboard.

That this Eversolo is based on Android has completely put me off it. I was actually going to get one on demo as I need a new DAC and maybe streamer DAC.

My Android based TV, phone and tablet (all Samsung Android) have no issues with my BT Openreach connection / router switch. But then I set it up.

You will probably find that the Eversolo is not actually Android but a Chinese copy of what Android does, as the US Gov't is not keen on Google allowing certain Chinese companies access to Android to sell.

@Rockchild Jon, Have you ordered one? I might be interested if you or other Wammers share their experience. It’s too early for me to decide though maybe in the near future to replace the Aries mini as a transport going to the Qutest dac.

Reset your TV and set it up as a UK TV if it was previously in use in Portugal.

No Jayson, I’ve got my Cambridge 851 that gets little use but I’m dealing with AE regarding my CD player rebuild. They have offered as I did mention it hence looking at the various videos etc available. I would consider it if I didn’t have the 851 as I like the touch screen but I think my 851 will better it on sound quality. Maybe I’ll just try one for comparison.
