Exaktbox filter update

I happened to look at Konfig today (trying to see if I could turn off the annoying blue light in the Exaktbox!) and noticed filter upgrades for the EB and some updates for the Selekt.

No idea what the filters do or what was upgraded in them but the sound is notably better!

Thought I’d post in case others don’t look in Konfig often.

The filters in my 350s were updated as well but still show the same version 3.0 from 2019, wonder what has changed…

Whatever the filters actually do, they are most definitely doing it better now.

The improvement is significant.

I just noticed a difference between Konfig and the Linn account for my 350s:

Konfig shows Filter Version 3.0 from 2019
while
Linn Account reports Version 5 (no date given)
Both are labeled 'Gain alignment', so I assume they refer to the same filter.

Anyone else seeing the same?

It’s the same thing, we’ve discussed this before and am sure we got confirmation from Linn.

I had the same problem with my Exakt sub box when I updated and I was only able to resolve by perfoming a restore and installing the Exakt sub again.

That update also included enhancements for my Akurate 242 Mk 1 speakers. Yes, a subtle improvement there is. As well, for everyone screaming that the sky is falling with the discontinuation of the Akurate line: I don’t see Linn asking people to purchase the new Organik select only to have it marginalized by the limits of a Katalyst DAC in an ExaKtbox. There may be board upgrades for the ExaKtboxes yet.

If you had the money to buy an Organik Selekt, why would you then connect it to an EB with Katalyst?
I would not be surprised if Exakt became available only on Klimax and Edition level systems.

It wouldn’t. I don’t think they intend you to be able to do that in future.

It’s why I have little doubt Organik will never get to AEB-I. At least not until it’s replaced with Perfikt and Organik becomes the equivalent of Katalyst.

If you want Exakt and Organik I think it’ll be Klimax level boxes or enhanced active speakers where the Exakt is in the speaker.

Possible, but from a consumer perspective, that leaves a lot of potential upgrades that would be a cash cow for Linn. I really don’t care either way. I am very happy with my system and if it stays like this, I still have a very satisfying musical experience every time I listen to it.

My 350p Exaktbox filters are 2.0 from 18 mars 2021. Using AExakbox -10 och ASH.
