Mods, if this is in the wrong forum please move to the correct one.

Looking for help with a "failed to enqueue" error message on my 851N as detailed below.

I have over 8000 tracks ripped to .flac format using Exact Audio Copy.
I recently ripped 4 new cds to flac but I keep getting "Failed to enqueue" errors with 3 of the ripped CDs.

As suggested on other forums I turned off and unplugged my router and the 851N, then  re connected, turned on router first the 851N
so the system could re-establish the "handshake" but the problem persists.

Strangely depending on how you attempt to play the full albums or individual tracks I can get these 3 tracks to play:-

From the album menu (using the 3 dot menu at the side of the album):-

Play Now           )
Play Next           ) All give Failed to enqueue error
Add to Queue    )
Replace Queue  )

From the individual tracks menu (using the 3 dot menu at the side of each track):-

Tap on track             ) Failed to enqueue error
Play Now                  ) Plays
Play From Here        ) Failed to enqueue error
Play Next                  ) Adds to queue and plays next or plays if you skip to the track
Add to queue           ) Adds that track to the queue and plays in sequence
Replace queue         ) Replaces queue and plays

I've re-ripped the problem CDs but the problem persists with just those 3 CDs

Has anyone come across this problem before and knows what the solution is please?

Any help appreciated.

The first thing I’d would be to contact the manufacturer.

Alternatively, perhaps you can rip the CD with a computer and then import the files into your server?

I've messaged the support team at Cambridge but no reply yet.

I am ripping the CDs using a desktop computer. that I use as a dedicated server to deliver the files to the 851N

The annoying thing is that 8000 other files ripped to flac on the same desktop work but these 3 CDs throw up the 2Failed to enqueue" error

Can you convert to another lossless format (eg AIFF) then back?

What are the CD's ? Have any of them got a form of copyright protection on them ?

Thanks for your responses.

Shadders: that link is where I got the handshake idea from, it didn't work.

Andrew s: They play on the pc without a problem using various players.

Tuga: I can't see how converting between formats would help. As I mentioned I've got 8000 plus tracks ripped to .flac using EAC on the same PC and they stream without problem through the 851N.

bencat: The CDs have no copyright protection.

They are:-

Robert Plant & Alison Krause, Raising Sand

Neil Young, Harvest Moon

Randy Newman, It's Tough At The Top.

I should mention that I also ripped the 3 CDs from the latest Fleetwood Mac Live deluxe set at the same time and those play without a problem.

Hi,

Could it be meta data information in each of the files ?, or something similar.

Regards,

Shadders.

I thought it might be something to do with the meta data but as I said all the other tracks have been ripped on the same PC using EAC with the same settings.

Why do the 3 Fleetwood Mac CDs ripped at the same session work ok but the other 3 don't?

I've started looking at the meta data using an editor but no clues yet.

I've got harvest moon cd ripped at it plays no problem on my player so it is not the disc. I'd have a look at the manual error code and see what it says or call the manufacturer.

I don't think it's the discs either.

It must be something to do with the rip from cd to flac from those 3 discs.

But I didn't change the parameters of the rip so what's going on?

add (an item of data awaiting processing) to a queue of such items.

try deleting all the files and reset your streamer then try another disc and see what happens. If no luck then I'd call up the manufacturer. As a suggestion do you think it's hit it's limit?

I’ve had weird things happen with files before that I solved this way. IT works in mysterious ways...
