Did anyone just see the Enzo Maccarinelli v Bobby Gunn fight on ITV4 just now?

I heard that fella had a big punch, but that was frightening. He demolished Gunn in the first round with utterly devastating blows. Apparently a fit fella of that weight, that has been taught to throw a punch might achieve 1.2 to 1.8 tons of pressure. He whacks in a good 3.5 tons:shock: ouch!

Looking forward to Calzaggi v Manfredo this evening, should be a good fight. Manfredo is no muppet.

whilst I enjoyed the first series of The Contender, for the most part they were bums, and my prediction is that Manfredo is going to get his arse handed to him on a plate tonight

Manfredo is no bum biccie. He is comming to win and has a strong track record. Many thought he was too good for the reality TV show. Myself included.

I think Calzaghi will win. But I have a feeling Manfredo will not make it too easy. be glad to be wrong though.

My mate, Mick Jennings, was on earlier on ITV4, he won the WBU title with a very tidy performance. I'll never forget being in the yard at school when we were in the 2nd yr (bout 12 yr old) a couple of the so-called 'cocks' from the 5th year came throwing their weight around, Mick kicked the shit out of 'em proper style, its was very impressive and they did deserve it. He's a really nice lad out of the ring but one 'ard bstard.

Enzo looks to me to be able to step up to the heavyweight, he's got the frame and one hell of a punch. he was on Blue Peter during the week when he did the 3.5t punch, I felt sorry for the punch bag coz you could tell how hard he was hitting it and had speed too!!

Both fights were a bit disappointing I thought. From an entertainment point of view. Hatton vs. Castillo is the one I’m looking forward to, should be a proper scrap.

Done quite a little bit of Boxing in my time, nothing was as wind churning as a good old solar plexus done right,or kidneys.... i get cramps in both my hands though, and still have smashed knuckles on both hands.. fookin painful at times

I haven`t been interested in it since the Roy Jones era really (A champion at middleweight, super middleweight,light heavy AND heavyweight.)....too much politics and dodgy managers since, together with lame promoters....

Yeah. He will be a big name, trains inthe Calzaghe camp. 6'4" cruzer weight:shock: He could move to heavy weight without being over weight.

Keep your eye on David Haye too, very similar to Maccarinelli in most ways, similar punching power, but his stamina maybe a bit suspect.

Manfredo may have been out of his depth, unfortunately we'll never know, as the fight was stopped too early IMHO.
