Please see following statement from Fiio regarding the offboard DAC function:

X7 DAC Function

Dear Customer,

Thank you for your purchase of the FiiO X7 and thank you for your patience in waiting for the dispatch.

These are from the very 1st batch of X7’s from FiiO. At the time of dispatch they were having an issue

with the DAC function on this player. As waiting for FiiO to solve this it would have added weeks on to

the dispatch of these, we decided that we were to get these sent to us so as not to delay the unit for our

customers who have been patiently waiting. FiiO have said that they are releasing a firmware update for

this that will solve the DAC issue. This is hoped that this will be done very soon and will be released

on their website so you can download this and update the unit.

Please also note that the 2nd batch may not be until January/February 2016.

Information From FiiO: The only problem is about the firmware. The firmware FW 1.1 without the

USB DAC function (with multi-language UI) is quite stable, but we encountered unexpected problems

after we add the USB DAC and other functions to it. So we are now working on the solution to fix it with

the hope to send the X7 out to you soon.
