Its nearly three years now since I made a pair of dFonken enclosures for some Fostex fx120 drivers and for the majority of that time they have been sat on my sideboard playing away quiet happily in their unfinished raw ply state. Having a open baffle project on the go and with these out of the system for a while it was time they had a long overdue make over.

With the open baffles out for tinkering with it's nice to have them back in rotation again.

I think the FX120 full range drivers paired with  Fonken cabinets have proved themselves to be a very nice combination.

I purchased the fx120 used and their metal surrounds had been painted black luckily I was able to remove the paint and return them to their original polished silver state.

There is something inherently sweet about single full range drivers correctly cabineted. The combination of no crossover to cause any phase shifts  and single point sources give superb imaging and definition. I'm biased as I have a pair of Jordan JX92S in floor standing units with a sort of folding exponential horn with Bass down firing. They give me a sound I am very happy with. I'm looking forward to showing them at Scalford.
