Great speakers, I have fond memories of hearing Doms pair at Scalford a few years ago, best in show that year for me. GLWTS
Thanks Colin. It was listening to Dom's A3's (Mk1 version slightly smaller and no rear tweeter) that convinced me to get mine!

Have loved Type A's since I heard them in the 80's at Peter Quortrup's House in Stratford, when he first set up business in the UK. I couldn't afford the A's though, so I had to settle for the E's. Not sure how I eventually ended up with Quad ESL63's!

These were mine.

I believe the mids were replaced with genuine new old stock, which are impossible to find.

The woofers were refoamed with correct foams by a kind gent on the wam.

The grille cloth was replaced...and done very well.

Luvly speakers.

Sounded great even in my compromised cluttered lounge.

The mids and highs fire above everything, and the 12 inch base wafts out from the slim grilles at the bottom of the bases.

They are less obtrusive that an average sized standmount/floor speaker. as they go/look great against the rear walls.

I used them with an AN oto se (11 watts i believe) and audio innovations 800 (23 watts)).

If you have the wall space, buy them.

I remember the massive sound from these. A proper 'Being There' experience. Very rare they come up!

It's times like this when I wish my room was a foot or more higher.

For those concerned about  accommodating  them in their room they work well angled in the  corners of a room with 6/8 ft between the speakers. Do not need a huge amount of space behind them. Would not take up that much more  room than say original Snell E's which were a free space design. Power is anything from a 300B up to 100W Class A amps like the Pass Alephs. Quality not quantity is the key as they are a wide open window. Best I ever heard were a pair of these biamped by  SJS 300B and also my PSE 2A3 copper amp. Gobsmaking effortlessness.

I heard these at a show, driven by the second audio triodes, Jeff Beck has never sounded as good as he did then, and I've seen him live 3 times!

wonderful speakers, I've got the cash but I'm between abodes, great speakers but bad timing for me.

Good luck with the sale

I wish i had the cash and transport, i'd have them back again.

A good price too.

They cost significantly more to import from the states and get to the condition they are in now.

I've never seen another pair for sale in the uk.
