Sorry been busy today but wanted to contribute . Threads are about debate, positive or negative views . End of. Yeah I might think audiophile fuses are snake oil but thats not the point . We don't have love in threads here .

Even if an expensive fuse did improve sound quality, it appears to me to be a pretty high risk potential waste of cash, given that their inherent purpose is to self-destruct when there's a problem.

It's relevant to me right now because I have an issue with my amp at the minute which is causing a fuse serving the left channel to blow. I am onto about 6 fuses just testing out different things to see what's causing it.

It's all pretty annoying, but I can only imagine the pain if I'd paid £500+ per fuse. Ouch.

Thank goodness for the pack of 10 I bought costing the princely sum of £2.64 (incl delivery!)

So true, if you have to measure it to believe it on here it might as well be ASR.
So false. Nobody here is saying you need to measure anything to believe it.
What some of us are saying is that rational thought leads us to believe that some avenues of enquiry are highly likely to be dead ends, this can be demonstrated beyond our reasonable doubt. However as we all know reproduction can be improved accordingly we look at other less unusual areas to concentrate our various efforts on.
I am more than happy for anyone who can afford it to buy demonstrably safe fuses and experiment away. Replacing any fuse with one that is not demonstrably safe has no place in any responsible discussion.

Indeed.

For me, fuses massively fail the "can I be arsed?" test, along with cable lifters and their ilk. Life's way to short to spend it chasing stuff that at best can only make microscopic/undetectable changes. Time is better spent changing stuff that is actually likely to make a difference, or even better, listening to some music.

I'm getting con..fused by all this now.
Lots of things "change" sound. Tapping my feet, singing, and the odd dance move are the best indicator of enjoyment. Imo.
* I do this privately of course.
Music first. Hifi second. (A close second) ;)

Fuse porn ?

OK, you asked for only positive replies - try this.

Take out you 10p fuse, and look at its ends. They may have dirt or tarnish that needs cleaning. Then look at the contacts in the fuse hulder and treat in the same way. Some like to improve contact by smearing a minute quantity of Vaseline on the contacts. Return fuse and get all your family and friends to pat you on the back because of the massive sound quality improvement that cost you a mere £500. Don't tell them the real cost or they won't acknowledge the sound improvement.

PS - If the fuse contacts look really bad, spend another 10p on a replacement

I don't have any to test but a quick Google suggests Vaseline is far more an electrical insulator rather than a conductor so not a great idea to put it on contacts. I suspect there may be some confusion re. covering a made connection like on a car battery with some sort of grease like this to keep moisture out.

The issue for me is safety and cost. Seems some of these fuses are not even up to the required standard, could be very expensive if they do cause a fire in your house.
The other issue is if they do blow then it's a load of money gone. How many do you need? Don't even know how to fit them on my active speakers.
They may make a difference but probably better to spend the money elsewhere.
If you ask on the Linn forum you may get different responses.
