As it says in the title, for sale is my Garrard 401 mounted on a granite plinth together with a Rega RB250 modified by Origin Live and an Ortofon MC15 Super II, all are in excellent condition and working beautifully. The 401 is a sought after early one with a twin spark suppressor, serial number of 5546, the unit was serviced by Loricraft in 2009 and I fitted a new  suppressor about 3 years ago. The RB250 has had a complete arm re-wire, from tags to phonos, with foam damping and a tungsten weight fitted by Origin Live. The plinth is cut for a 9 inch SME but has the Origin Live to Rega metal converter plate fitted and heavyweight spikes on the base complete with base cups. The plinth measures 555mm wide by 415mm deep and 155mm high plus spikes.

This is an extremely heavy combination and I will not entrust it to a courier so its either collection from Hayling Island or I will travel up to 100 miles to either deliver to you or meet you somewhere, for the cost of my fuel.

I purchased a Technics SP10 a couple of years ago and have recently obtained a 301 so something has to go, hence the reason for the sale.

£750 anyone?

jolly nice that is!

I am continually surprised by how good the 401 is. As I make improvements to other parts of the system, the 401 keeps up and unearths new and often surprising detail that I never knew was on the recording.

best of luck with sale.
