This case, the first of its kind, came up in the discussion on health warnings in another part of the forum. It concerned the Porsche 930 (911 Turbo) and its oversteering tendency and the problem of turbo lag. This is from the website of the law firm that litigated the case.

US folk are notoriously litigious and US law firms are notorious "ambulance chasers". In the aftermath of the Swissair Flight 111 disaster:

a bunch of them arrived in Swizzieland to tout for business, because more money could be extracted by means of lawsuits filed in US courts. Naturally they were interested only in the welfare of bereaved loved ones... They received a very cold shoulder, and I don't think a single lawsuit was filed.
