Good PC speakers

Hey folks. I'd like to add some speakers to my PC for watching movies, you tube, a bit of music. It's a second system so i don't want to blow the budget.  Any recommendations for powered speakers, and a usb dac (unless built into the speakers of course)? I'm leaning toward wired, but could be convinced to go wireless if the wind is blowing in the right direction

I have looked at Audio Engine website and they look good, but reviews seem a bit scarce in UK.

I have the Audioengine A2+ and they’re excellent. Great sound, build and looks. Very pleased.

I have JR149s and a Bantam Gold amp for the desktop (a Tisbury pre-amp is used as a switch box)

They look very nice, top of my list at the moment*. What keyboard/mouse/trackpad do you use?

Keyboard is a Drevo Calibur V2 (with cherry mx brown switches), mouse is a Microsoft precision, and the pad is by Razer. Smooooth..

well they're plugged in via usb to my windows 10 PC and warming up. Do I need to do anything in PC settings to optimise sound quality?

Nope. They’re just plug and play. I like the fact that the left speaker has the amplification which feeds the right. Nice and tidy.
