We were there on Friday and Saturday - its an absolutely fabulous event, and much bigger than it was on my last visit 10 years ago.

Brilliant cars, venue, stars, format, accessibility and even the weather. Thoroughly recommended. Get up early to get in and you get 10 hours of unfettered marvellousness.

To be honest, I thought the best years were the first two or three. Since then, the commercial aspects (essential for continued running, I know) have crept in... I preferred the intimacy of very little to spend money on, just cars, drivers and so on.

I've not checked the photos, but one thing that has annoyed me more than anything else about Goodwood this year is the apparent continual stream of pics of that facelifted Carrera GT that's had a few inches taken out of its length. Oh... It's called a 918 now? The everlasting journalistic gushing of praise over a new Porsche is so old, too. We know it's going to be good - we don't need wannabe racedriver hacks to tell us that.

The silver Alfa 4C is so much more appealing for me - fresh, and different. I'm not sure about the wacky headlight treatment - maybe it has acne? - but the rest would be very welcome in my driveway.

That little Alfa is a thing of beauty!

I went 14 or 15 years ago and it was heaving then. I wonder what the crowds are like now?

The Vulcan flew over my house on the way to it's fly-past at the Festival and on the way back on Saturday. This was good as it meant I was able to run around clutching my private parts with excitement without anyone else seeing me...

What a beautiful looking car. In a new car world of hideous germanic designs (anyone seen a Merc CLA in the flesh yet?) this is a thing of beauty. Shame about the headlights but I could overlook them.

Nice pics Graham.

Much prefer the 8c! The 4c looks like something heavy has sat on its middle...

I have some pics somewhere of the one we saw parked up at MOTAT, just outside Auckland. Strangely, it too was red.

I think it may have belonged to a member of staff (how much do museum workers earn these days???) as it was coned off with tape between the cones to discourage schoolboys with sticky fingers. Or maybe, as MOTAT is the Museum of Travel and Transport, it was an outdoor exhibit? :) Whatever, lovely to see.

The 8C reminds me of the Maserati, which is no bad thing. I certainly wouldn't argue if I had to live with one of those instead of the 4C!

Getting back to Goodwood, there seem to have been some high profile unable-to-drive-around-corners-in-expensive-cars occurrences this year!

I think all the 8Cs are red - funnily enough that particular shade is called "8C Red". We had our Giulietta done in that colour as it's gorgeous...

Apart from the "spider's eye" inspired light treatment, the 4c is gorgeous and (to these eyes) a better balanced design than the 8c.

Would I say no to either ? Be fucked !

+1 Graham and Terry:^

The headlights are too weird though.
