What is it that gives us Goose bumps or make the hairs on our kneck stand up when Listening to music?

Nothing gives me goose bumps or makes the hairs on my kneck stand up. Just a jaded old musician probably.

But certain pieces of music can bring me close to tears. Like Mozart's Clarinet Quintet or Falla's Seven Popular Spanish Songs sung by flamenco singer Trinidad Montero.

For me, usually female vocalists. Particularly:

Annie Haslem (Renaissance) I Think of You, The Prince and Princess.

Christine Collister (Gregson and Collister) It's All Just Talk.

Kate Bush Army Dreamers

There are others but these come to mind as they invariably bring a lump to the throat.
