Hi,

This product is excellent for re-sticking a cardboard LP cover that has become unstuck.

3M 9087 Double-Sided High Performance 6mm x 50m Tape. available on the usual site for £6.36.

Much easier and less mess than glue. Just cut off a strip, lay it on the open side of the cover, remove the backing and press the sleeve together from the spine side towards the opening.

Works a treat!

Graham.

for a reduction in airborne vibration and improved clarity in the treble I find this solution works well:

no substitute for compressed air vice to really make sure the covers stay closed, I tend to use this stuff but happy to hear from anyone with a better solution:

Bostik Strong Contact Adhesive works extremely well, and the final result closely resembles the original glueing of the sleeve if done carefully.

The glue used to fasten album covers is heat sensitive. I use an iron (no steam) on a medium heat to reseal it, leave it to cool - job done. If it doesn't seal increase the heat until it does.

I have found that ironing works for some sleeves, but not for others, depending on how much the original glue has become denatured.

Certainly a useful method for a proportion, but I tend to use Bostik for all mine now.

I can't remember the last time my method failed.

You must have super powers. :notworthy:

:)
A record dealer told me about using an iron years ago. When I first tried it always failed so I asked why and the answer was that it takes very little heat to melt the glue - too much heat will vaporise it.
