thoughts on a music angel xd800 mrk3 got a chance to buy this amp for 150.00 what do you guys think have had a rogers hg88mk2 in the past and a rogers cadet love the warm sound from vale amps but I knoe that this is a jap amp no offence guys!! :geek:

These are good amps, especially for that kind of money. As long as it's fully working I'd jump on it. Check out what valves it's being supplied with, on a push/pull job like this if you want to swap them out it can add up.

It's Chinese BTW, not Japanese ;-)

ok thanks for that info nice to see pll do reply on this site as im just a beginner on this site but lol the analogue sound cant wait to run my teac x2000 real to real on it !!!! think there standard valves which are shown in a prostration box!!! would these be the same make as the amp ? if so what life span do thay have ?

ok had a look at the amp today!! in its box labelled up 220-240 v so I hope this is ok for uk use ? original vavles in box don't look to burn but I don't know what im looking at !! its got a small swich on the back what dose it do ? do I swich it when amp is on or off ? anyone heard of a kerel pre amp and prosead pre amp modle numbers to follow guys thanks

no alas no instructions in the box getting in a bit of a flap now as looked on the net and its very confusing if the amp is worth £150 every body seems to want to get a soldering iron out on it and remove loads of components!!!!! thanks for your helpful messages guys and galls more to follow me thinks:nerves:

just got the amp out of the box today on the back of the amp its marked up ay 220v but on the packaged box its marked up at 220, 240 so can I use this amp as it is or will I nead a voltage stabilized supply if so where could I get one from new it was to good to last or am I just flapping a bit !!! thanks guys and galls for any help you can suggest :nup:

I am using a Chinese valve amp 220v on UK supply, no problems. I was looking at using a step down transformer, can't think what they call it, but didn't bother as I will be using it in France eventually.

One of the issues you will get running a 220v valve amp in the Uk is that the HT and heater voltages are likely to be increased. This can cause you issues with the lifetime of the tubes and other components.

just a last note amp seems to be running ok had it on for 2 hrs today and thoughts of adding a valve pre amp to it ? if so wich one would be good not using record deck btw thanks
