Hypex Query

Hi folks.

A question about Hypex boards. A friend bought a DIY Hypex build off eBay a little while back (using NC500 modules). It has developed a fault on one of the channels.

A knowledgeable guy I know has been looking into it and has suggested the only way to repair would be to replace the NC500 modules. He thinks the power supply is testing ok.

I've had a quick look on the Hypex website and it looks like NC500 modules are only available to end-product-manufacturers of audio applications or audio repair businesses. The DIY site seems to sell different modules.

Does anyone know whether it would be possible to obtain replacement NC500 modules and if so, where from?

I was thinking the same. Or Colin at Nord.

Another possibility is to get Hypex to repair them. They did this for some Ucd 400 modules I had.
I dont know if they still do this but no harm in asking.

This. If the issue is a non user problem there’s a chance that they might just get a replacement foc, even out of warranty.
Hypex are very approachable and it’s got to be worth trying out.

P.S. Nord has an offer of exchanging the NC500MB modules for the new NCX500 modules on their amplifiers. I need to contact the manufacturer of my amps and explore the options….

All sorted now. Friend decided to bite the bullet in the end and just buy a new amp (a Nord amp using the latest x modules).

Both Nord and KJF did however offer to help out, just for future reference for anyone reading this with the same query.
