James and the Happy Mondays this Friday.

More of the Mrs choice but I like both bands and am looking forward to it.

Arctic Lake in November.

They've today released tickets for a few small gigs across various places in UK.

Minnows, unheard of, slept on, yet amazing... A crime for music they are not well known... Her voice is just astonishing!

if you've not heard them, listen to the EP, What You May Find. Then spend £12 and buy a ticket to one of their gigs near you. You can thank me later 😉

Saw Deacon Blue last night at the Plymouth Pavillion. Unusual set, as they come out and do an accoustic set as the warm up act, and make a few quips as to how they can ruin many an old song. They leave a stage that looks like a lounge, and twenty minutes later return to a stage setup for the main act, and boy they did not disappoint, playing most of their hits and well known album tracks.

We are going to see Raye tonight at the RAH. First gig for a few years, the last one was KD Lang which was amazing (and no queue for the gents toilets!). Looking forward to it!

I also saw Deacon Blue this week - last night at the BIC in Bournemouth. Same set list as @greybeard - an all-acoustic first half and then a more upbeat second half. They were excellent - played for around 2 hours in total and did "all the old 45's", just as promised.

I have a particular love for the band, having seen them perform live on the green in front of Alton Towers house back in 1987 I think (possibly 88?), when they were being filmed for Saturday morning TV, and this was just as they were starting to become noticed and popular. Have enjoyed them ever since.

Managed to get tickets for Simple Minds next March, also seeing the Queen Extravaganza and ABBA Voyage (for the second time) so it will be a busy month!
