Is it possible to update the original iPad software? Can't see anywhere in settings where this is done.

Yes but you have to do it via iTunes on a PC or Mac. The later versions of the software can be done over wifi directly but not supported by iPad 1. Also some apps won't be available on the iPad 1.

Note iPad 1 only supports up to 5.1.1

Cheers I'll try iTunes then. Yes finding some apps are not available to me. I take it you have to connect iPad to pc then?
