IKEA are bringing out a turntable later in the year. The article below doesn’t mention a price, but it looks like it might be quite solid and chunky for a budget deck:

Well I’m an IKEA fan but I’m not sure I want a budget record deck. But it does look like an original design as opposed to a generic OEM technics 1200 look alike or similar.

It only plays one instrument/voice at a time, you have to assemble the song in your head

Its powered by USB and so will be able to combine all the disadvantages of computer audio with the disadvantages of analog replay..

If it’s like an IKEA bed, then it’ll be very good.

The only disadvantage being that it won’t come as standard with the platter, counterweight or stylus, which you’ll have to buy separately. They’ll also never have one of these in stock

No-one has asked the most important question here, namely will it fit in a KALLAX?

If it’s like an IKEA bed, then it’ll be very good.

But it will have a non UK standard size turntable and speed, and only play records purchased from IKEA or imported from Sweden.
