Been out about for most of the day, don't have blinds or curtains in the new place yet:flasher: Came home to a very warm hifi, Should my electronics be kept out of direct sunlight, does it make any difference to sound when its playing apart from making it impossible to see the display.

I wouldn't normally ask such an obscure question but after binding post porn:shock:

It's certainly mentioned in all manufacturers' handbooks that I've read that direct sunlight & hifi don't go together over a protracted period. Can't be great for veneers either.

It isn't great for vinyl covered speakers either as direct sunlight through a window can be enough to make the glue holding the vinyl on return to its liquid state and the vinyl may become detached.

Depends on the colour of the units be it speakers or units, silver units reflect the heat dark coloured ones take it in so adding to the working temp

speakers of high quality cherry and rose wood would darken or lighten due to the affect of the sun mdf covered wood could un glue

a white cover thrown over the system is best if you have to leave the system in direct sunlight

Aids in the formation of vitamin D (especially re:source material) which makes it sound more natural

get the watering can out (especially if the hosepipes are banned where you live), and together with the sunlight should have a wonderful effect.

Sunlight's REALLY bad for turntables, especially if you leave an LP on the platter.
